New Office Staff and Plumber

Desi is our new office manager and dispatcher and warehouse person and mail person and HR person. She says "Hello" and is happy to be of service to our old and new customers.

Jose is our new licensed plumber. He has seven years in plumbing repair and service (that's what we do), so he's a great fit. He's a Bellingham native and Sehome High School graduate. He's fluent in Spanish, by the way.

Bellingham Ceiling Leak

Most of the ceiling leak jobs are from discolored ceilings. Once in a while, it's really obvious...

Covid-related toilet death

Frustration and anxiety fueled by hamburgers and beer can be destructive. Just don't take it out on local businesses, okay?

Bellingham Covid Sewer

This was done during the height of the pandemic scare. To say everyone--from the city to the team--was distracted by events is a huge understatement.

It was particularly bad because my sinuses were in full revolt. I freaked out the team and homeowners.

Masks are difficult when you're breaking up six tons of 75 year old concrete, so it was bad all the way around.

It'll last 50 years or more (the sewer, not my sinus condition), so all's well that ends well.

Pretending it is the New Normal

Here's a few pictures of recent jobs.

Bellingham Wa. Water Heater

This was a funny one to me. My work is the left one and another company is on the right. Not all companies are the same.

P-Traps in Bellingham

Or lack, thereof.

A p-trap prevents sewer gas from entering your house. It looks pretty simple, but it's engineered to work in conjunction with air (vent) and gravity (Sir Isaac Newton). Many DIYers scoff at the science of drainage, as the first picture shows a shower without a p-trap. The second picture is Ball Plumbing's contribution to the science of drains: Drainology.

Kitchen Faucet Replacement

This is in one of the newer and pricier neighborhoods in Whatcom County. The mansion is less than 5 years old and used as a retreat from the owner's job.

As is common here, the builder got the plumbing fixtures (faucets, toilets, etc) from some discount store. The property manager called Ball Plumbing about the leaking faucet and general sadness of the set up.

The plumber took everything out and started over. Plumber kept it really simple with a Delta faucet with pull out hose and a new air gap for the dishwasher. Gone is the under-counter water filter that was never cleaned and the insta-hot that was never used.
